Located in Philadelphia’s University City, just down the street from the University of Pennsylvania, 3737 Chestnut Street is ideally located to cater to students. Home to many medical students and resident doctors, as well as other undergraduate and graduate students, 3737 Chestnut provides a warm, embracing environment in the middle of the education center of downtown Philadelphia. Hartman Design Group used reclaimed, textural finishes like woods, concrete, brick, and natural stone to give this award-winning residential tower an industrial yet inviting, urban style – reflective of Philadelphia’s own vibe. The soft, vintage style furnishings and multiple communal work tables throughout the common areas provides study and gathering spaces that invite the residents to work, play and socialize.
The building was under construction when Bozzuto and Radnor Property Group asked HDG to improve the aesthetics of all the common spaces. In order to open by August 15th – in time for the new school year – under a tight budget and deadline, HDG worked closely with the team to reinvent the interior spaces. Through collaboration, creativity and commitment, HDG was able to deliver an edgy, yet comfortable interior that is functional, comfortable and matches the lifestyle of this resident base.
