The Avantís location in the heart of Reston Town Center draws affluent residents from many demographics -- empty nesters, divorcees, single and married professionals -- all of whom want luxury urban living in a suburban location. The owner, Boston Properties, and the management company, Bozzuto Management, entrusted the HDG interior design team with a unique design challenge: create a resort-style urban retreat with the ambiance of a fine hotel.
Blessed with 20-foot ceilings, the lobby, wrapped in stone and wood, features a 10-foot linear flame fireplace. Surrounded by European modern leather chairs, this blazing fireplace catches the eye of pedestrians in Reston's most upscale, walkable community. A cluster of oversized and dramatic chandeliers draws the eye to the beamed ceiling. Arriving at the second floor, the elevator lobby acts as an access point to the public amenity spaces and provides an excellent view of the outdoor terraces. Evoking the ambiance of a gallery, the neutral palette, clean lines, and subtle tones create a backdrop for the original art pieces, which are placed throughout the public spaces.
Carved into multiple intimate spaces, the clubroom and business lounge provide the residents with multiple settings to socialize in groups or spend quiet time alone. An extra-large fitness and yoga room overlooks the pool deck, and a private dining room, connected to a catering kitchen, is available for dinner parties or card games.
