Developed by Buchanan Partners, partnered with The Pinkard Group and managed by Bozzuto, The Kingsley Apartments in Old Town Alexandria, VA, is a perfect blend of old and new. This unique apartment community is a place where modern meets vintage, casual juxtaposes slick.
As a boutique, mixed use development comprising 175 apartment homes and a Harris Teeter grocery store, every public space was designed to be a resident amenity. When conceptualizing the interior, the HDG interior design and architecture team worked closely with the owner to create a sense of intimacy throughout the voluminous lobby. With its 24' ceilings and view to the fitness center in the mezzanine above, the lobby was designed to be open and transparent. To encourage social activity, multiple, cozy seating arrangements are scattered throughout this first floor space. Everything is tactile and friendly, a result of pulling down the barriers and bringing everyone together.
By introducing color and whimsy to the interior spaces, the HDG design team added a range of personal objects such as a living edge huddle table, funky light fixtures, and unexpected art objects. These special touches add a sense of playfulness and humor while creating a memorable personal experience for the resident, prospect and guest.
