In the heart of Rockville Town Center and one block from Rockville Metro, BLVD Ansel completes the town center landscape. Surrounded by restaurants and shops, this walkable community has a comforting neighborhood vibe. Designed to be an urban oasis, BLVD Ansel Apartments is named for the photographer, Ansel Adams, the environmentalist who used his photography to promote conservation of wilderness areas.
Featuring woods, woven products, stone, fabrics, and art elements that reflect the colors and textures found in nature, the interior design pays tribute to the critical importance of environmental protection and the human health benefits that occur when we connect to our natural surroundings. Highly refined, the interiors resist formality, seamlessly weaving tactile organic forms with bold, expressive gestures.
Intending to create an interactive environment that encourages collaborative work, social gatherings, and a sense of wellbeing, the design team scattered flexible spaces for work and play throughout the property. Dedicated amenities include a heads-down work lounge with individual “Zoom” rooms, a 12’communal table and multiple open work pods. The expansive club and game room with stairs that lead to a roof deck is a grand space for events with intimate nooks for those that prefer time alone. An expansive fitness center and yoga room overlook the pool and terrace.
Despite its views that extend as far as Maryland’s Sugarloaf Mountain, the interior takes an inward-looking, nurturing approach. The result is a remarkable building that provides a residential retreat in this urban neighborhood.
