The Chase at Bryant Street
Washington, DC

Multi-family interior design firm Hartman Design Group was thrilled to work on this project!

Named for Salmon P. Chase, an abolitionist and life-long public servant, The Chase at Bryant Street is designed for the dreamer and the doer, for the person who loves to explore the world as well as their hometown, who craves the comfort of home as well as their active urban surroundings.  Located in the heart of the close-knit Edgewood community, the property is infused with local art, engaging spaces, community, and culture.

Collaborating with the developer MRP, SK & I Architecture, CBG Construction and local artists, the HDG team created a memorable ambiance that lives up to the spirit of the Edgewood community.  The design was a shared vision embraced by all.

Unpretentiously chic, the most miraculous part of the interior tends to be the moments of surprise.  The round hanging fireplace, ceiling-mounted swings, bold color, and greenery hanging from light fixtures, together, add a downright cheeky charm to the industrial background of exposed concrete and black steel details.

The interior is simultaneously generous and intimate.  Maximizing natural light and establishing a sense of spaciousness, the open plan layout delineates the work/play zones using see-through shelving and screening elements.  Supporting the “work from anywhere” trend, peaked roof, glass house, and individual work pods provide residents their own personal “office away from office”.  Bohemian and modern, this new multi-family community has formed a close relationship with its historic and established Edgewood neighbor.
